SMD and Through-Hole mounting of PCB Explanation: the HM in the Danish translation would be referring to "hulmontering" - which in English is Through Hole - the alternative to SMD - Surface Mountet Device. Within electronics, the word mounting would be used for in-factory process of physically "placing" the electronic components on the PCB (printed Circuit Board as Jens explained) and soldering it.
