I don't think there's one right answer here! I like "knowledgeable and experienced", and "competent" sounds pretty good too. On the other hand, I think there's room for a certain amount of ambiguity with the word "qualified" in English, i.e. you can say that (out of a number of people), one person is "best qualified" to do something (by reason of his/her experience, not necessarily formal qualifications).
You can also say someone is "well-qualified" (to do something, to speak ...). |
