As far as I know, 拼缝 translates as "abutted seam" or "butt seam". The text refers to sewing instructions for polyester textile pieces for back-packs etc. I can't really make sense of the "为". As I see it, it cannot refer to the length of the seam as the pieces are usually longer than 1.2cm.
