cultural background vs education vs enlightenment Explanation: yes, similar, but just an option: 文化程度 —cultural background, education 教育程度education as such, like in 教育程度上的资格education qualification, level 文化教育程度enlightenment, level of literacy 教育enlightenment, education 文化culture, civilization, general education, literacy 程度degree, level, order may fit :-) |

Approximately the same thing Explanation: You certainly do see 教育程度 and 文化程度 used to mean the same thing - specifically the level of school education obtained (up to 15/up to 18/associate degree/BA/postgrad). (This is a Taiwanese doc, right? Normally on the mainland it would be 水平 rather than 程度). In some contexts there can be a subtle difference - 文化 being how educated you are, which mostly comes from your schooling, but isn't exactly the same concept. If there's no further evidence to go on, I'd plump for that: 教育程度 referring to one of the five options on the scale I gave, 文化程度 being a more general measure. But they could easily be the same thing. |
