Chinese term or phrase: 颜色搭配的解释
This phrase is found in an article about getting third year students to create their own stories in Chinese, and the teacher is talking about how they achieved it. I'm confused by the use of 颜色 here. Does it mean "explanations of colourful word pairings"?

Explanation of the colour pairing

Explanation:
Hi Saiwen, the phrase is ambiguous, but it literally means the "explanation of the colouring pairing". Did the students use colours to describe their feelings? Please provide the context.

agree  Rita Pang: I mentioned "colour wording" before, though I was actually wanting to say "colour word" pairs. A mistake on my part, though I'd appreciate it if my colleague here not belittle someone, when "collocation" isn't exactly appropriate for this context.

agree  David Xing: colour wording does not make sense at all. "colour collocation" is appropriate too.
