Here's the context:

It's from a transcript of a talk, so it's possible that they have used the wrong characters. I can't find it anywhere on google, can't find it on any other website.

could 越种 be possbily 育种?The latter makes a little more sense. More context is needed. But I am not sure about it. Just a wild guess.
