cap a dins - inwards / cap a l'exterior - outwards
Explanation:
'Cap' indicates the direction in which something/someone moves. So, 'cap a dins' would be 'inwards' or 'towards the interior' of something and 'cap a l'exterior' would be 'outwards' or 'towards the outer part' of something.

agree  psicutrinius: Exactly. A "rule" to remember this could be that, since "cap" means "head" (litterally), "cap a" means "heading to", and in this case, "towards".

-> thanks, psicutrinius, good idea your 'rule'! :-)
