في دول الخليج يستخدم مصطلح دارج هو مُراجِع للدالة على كل من يراجع أي جهة لأداء معاملاته، ونجد في اللغة الانجليزية مفردات تختلف حسب الجهة التي تراجعها.
مثل CLIENT, CUSTOMER, VISITOR, PATIENT, DRIVER
كما أنا هنالك مصطلح وظيفي هو كلمة معقب وهو الذي يخلص المعاملات ويتقاضى مقابل مادي،
وهذا يسمى EXPEDITER, DOCUMENT PROCESSOR.

agree  Ousama Fatima: Unlike the arabic word (مراجع), there isn't a specific word in English for someone who is visiting a puplic office. A client or customer is your best bet.

disagree  Akram Darwish: Customer is the person buying products from a company and a Client is the one who uses services provided by a company, while persons visiting Public Departments in GCC states are "Applicants". You only go there if you want to apply for something
