I was born in Italy where I remained until my early twenties whereupon I transferred to London to ‘live’ the language amongst the locals. I have been living in the UK for approximately 25 years.

I mainly collaborate with international translation agencies as well as my own end clients. I translate in a wide variety of subject matters at circa 3,000 words per day (depending on the text).

I hold a current Enhanced CRB certificate.

I attended City and Islington College in London, completing an NVQ in Business Administration and English (Level 2); I also attained a pass in the course entitled “AS English Language and Literature”. This, coupled with my working background in the UK, has helped me to improve my English to it’s now fluent level.

The above-mentioned NVQ qualification enhanced my computer skills, which now cover a wide range of programmes including the Microsoft Package (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook). I enjoyed this course immensely passing all required modules and I moved on to complete a three-year HND in Information Technology and Advanced English. I subsequently passed a course entitled Proficiency in English Certification.

I am unable to disclose specific client names, etc. due to confidentiality undertakings however my recent experience includes:

NHS interpreting: “St. Peter’s Hospital, Chertsey, Surrey”. I worked together with a social worker in order to assess an Italian patient suffering from dementia. (half-day assignment)

NHS interpreting: “Channel Day Surgery Unit, William Harvey Hospital”. I worked together with the surgeon in order to complete the consent form and liaise with the surgeon and patient during cataract removal surgery. (one day interpreting assignment)

Crown Court interpreting: “Inner London Crown Court, Elephant and Castle”. Interpreting for the prosecuting counsel and Judge during the hearing. Assisting the prosecution witness throughout the pre-trial hearing and also liaising with the defence counsel (GBH related) (half-day assignment)

Crown Court interpreting: “Snaresbrook Crown Court, Snaresbrook”. Interpreting for the witness giving evidence during the hearing and liaising with the police officer, Judge, prosecuting and defence counsel. (GBH related) (three day assignment)

Magistrates’ Court interpreting: “Stratford Magistrates’ Court, Stratford”. Interpreting for the witness giving evidence during the hearing and liaising with prosecuting and defence counsel. (theft) (one day assignment)
