Pertector ist ein nuklearmedizinisches Diagnostikum (ATC V09FX01) zur intravenösen Anwendung (nach Elution und ggf. Radiomarkierung) oder zur Anwendung am Auge (nach Elution).
Das Eluat (Natrium[99mTc]pertechnetat-Injektionslösung, Ph. Eur.) aus Pertector kann eingesetzt werden
• zur radioaktiven Markierung von einem Kit für ein radioaktives Arzneimittel, das speziell für die radioaktive Markierung mit Natrium[99mTc]pertechnetat entwickelt und zugelassen wurde.
Bei direkter intravenöser Anwendung wird die sterile Natrium[99mTc]pertechnetat-Injektionslösung in folgenden Fällen für diagnostische Zwecke angewendet:
• Schilddrüsen-Szintigraphie: Direkte Darstellung und Messung der Schilddrüsenaufnahme, um bei Schilddrüsenerkrankungen Informationen über Größe, Lokalisation und Funktion der Drüse und das Vorliegen von Knoten zu erhalten.
• Speicheldrüsen-Szintigraphie: Diagnostik chronischer Sialadenitiden (z. B. Sjögren Syndrom) sowie Verlaufskontrolle der Speicheldrüsenfunktion bei Speicheldrüsen-erkrankungen und therapeutischen Eingriffen (insbesondere Radioiodtherapie).
• Lokalisation ektopischer Magenschleimhaut (Meckel-Divertikel).
Nach Injektion der sterilen Natrium[99mTc]pertechnetat-Lösung in ein Rickham-Reservoir:
• Shuntszintigraphie: zur Durchgängigkeitsprüfung von Ventrikelshunts bei Hydrozephalus.
Nach Instillation der sterilen Natrium[99mTc]pertechnetat-Lösung in das Auge:
• Szintigraphie der Tränenwege: zur Abklärung funktioneller Störungen des Tränenflusses, zur Verlaufskontrolle und Erfolgsbeurteilung nach therapeutischen Maßnahmen.

Dopo iniezione della soluzione sterile di sodio(99mTc)pertecnetato in un serbatoio di Ommaya:
• Scintigrafia degli shunt: nell'idrocefalo, per verificare la pervietà degli shunt ventricolari.

Source text - English The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy and the safety of an experimental drug, masitinib, to a placebo (inactive substance which looks like the real drug), administered during 24 weeks to patients suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
In addition to the principal study described above, ancillary studies will be conducted:
- a genomic study (studying genes) . As an example, our genes determine our physical appearance such as the color of our eyes. Differences in our genes help explain why we all look different but may also explain why some drugs are effective and safe in some patients, but not in others. The objectives of this genomic study are to evaluate potential relationships between the genes, efficacy and safety of the study treatment. Participation to this additional study will require additional laboratory samplings for you.
- A Magnetic Resonance Imaging MRI study . The MRI uses magnetic signals to create image "slices" of the human body. They are two MRI studies. The investigator will let you know in which study you can take part .
The goal of these studies is to define a new precocious marker of your disesase. Participation to this additional study will require two additional MRIs for you.
- One pharmacokinetic study. Blood sampling will be collected at week 4, week 12 and week 24 visits to determine Masitinib pharmacokinetics parameters . 5 to 7,5 mL of blood will be collected for each time point.

Nitrate (NO3-) is found naturally in the environment and is an important plant nutrient. It is present at varying concentration in all plants and is a part of the nitrogen cycle. Nitrite (NO2 -) is not usually present in significant concentrations expect in a reducing environment, as nitrate is the more stable oxidation state. It can be formed by the microbial reduction of nitrate ad in vivo by reduction from ingested nitrate. Nitrite can also be formed chemically in distribution pipes by Nitrosomonas bacteria during stagnation of nitrate-containing and oxygen-poor drinking-water in galvanized steel pipes or if chloramination is used to provide a residual disinfectant.
Nitrate can reach both surface water and groundwater as a consequence of agricultural activity (including excess application of inorganic nitrogenous fertilizers and manures), from wastewater disposal and from oxidation of nitrogenous waste products in human and animal excreta, including septic tanks. Surface water nitrate concentrations can change rapidly owing to surface runoff of fertilizer, uptake by phytoplankton and denitrification by bacteria, but groundwater concentrations generally show relatively slow changes. Some groundwaters may also have nitrate contamination as a consequence of leaching from natural vegetation.

In March 2012, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) received a request from the Hellenic Food Authority (EFET) for a scientific opinion on estimation of the risk to human health from the presence of chromium (Cr) in food and Cr(VI) in bottled water.
Chromium is a metal widely distributed in the environment occurring in rocks, soil and volcanic dust and gases. Chromium can exist in a variety of oxidation states, with the trivalent (Cr(III)) and hexavalent (Cr(VI)) states being relatively stable and largely predominant. While Cr(III) is a natural dietary constituent present in a variety of foods and also in dietary supplements, Cr(VI) most commonly occurs in industrial processes and is present in drinking water usually as a consequence of anthropogenic contamination.
At human dietary exposure levels chromium absorption is relatively low (< 10 % of the ingested dose) and depends on its valence state and ligands. Most of the ingested Cr(VI) is considered to be reduced in the stomach to Cr(III), which is poorly bioavailable and presents low ability to enter cells. In contrast to Cr(III), Cr(VI) is able to cross cellular membranes. The interconversion of Cr(VI) to Cr(III) is of relevance for risk assessment since, in general, Cr(VI) compounds are much more toxic than Cr(III) compounds.
There are no maximum levels (MLs) for chromium in food. A parametric value of 50 μg Cr/L for total chromium in water intended for human consumption and a Maximum Limit of 50 μg Cr/L for total chromium in natural mineral waters are laid down in Council Directive 98/83/EC and in Commission Directive 2003/40/EC, respectively.
The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has classified Cr(VI) compounds as carcinogenic to humans (Group 1) with respect to the cancer of the lung and also cancer of the nose and nasal sinuses based on evidence from occupational studies.
