I have no interest in incorporating AI into my translating process and anyway a growing number of my clients have now expressly forbidden the use of any AI software…

Many are doing exactly that since quite some years Dec 26, 2023

Anyone who searches the web for something using google or bing, and then selects from among the results; anyone who accepts a YouTube video suggestion, or who buys (or even looks at) something recommended by Amazon, has contributed to the training of the AIs that generate those algorithms.

So whether we do so knowingly, or unknowingly, we're all doing it. Every day.

This is not the future: this is the present, and if we prise our eyes away from our own navels for a short while we can see it unfolding.

Unless someone explains to me what the scope of AI training is, I can't even begin to answer the question. But at a guess, I imagine it's the entire gamut of everything that is included in AI training.

But then the next question would be "What is AI training?" Is it training yer actual AI to do things, or is it training people in how to use AI?

But in a very fundamental way, my answer in any case is an echoing, resounding "No".
