Source text - English The growth of system stealthing techniques seems to be proliferating quite strongly. These techniques called rootkits hide the presence of a file (hence a virus – for nefarious purposes) on a system by intercepting the system API functions and trick Windows Explorer-like programs into not displaying the true contents of a folder. Running tasks are also manipulated with in such a way that it enables a malicious application to cloak its presence in memory and running processes on a computer. The majority of modern antiviruses have not yet learned to reliably detect and consequently confront rootkits, so most of the complex malware using such elaborate methods will likely go unnoticed.
Translation - German Aktuell ist eine starke Zunahme von „Stealth-Software“ auf der Basis von Tarnkappentechniken zu beobachten. Diese meist als „Rootkit“ bezeichnete Software verdeckt die Anwesenheit von Dateien, beispielsweise eines Virus oder anderer Schadsoftware, durch Abfangen der API-Funktionen des Betriebssystems. Auf diese Weise werden Dateiverwaltungsprogramme wie der Windows-Explorer in die Irre geführt, d. h. es wird nicht mehr der wahre Inhalt von Dateiverzeichnissen angezeigt. Auch laufende Programme können in ähnlicher Weise manipuliert werden, wodurch es Schadsoftware gelingt, die eigene Anwesenheit im Computerspeicher und die Nutzung von Prozessorzeit zu verbergen. Source text - English The term "composite" refers to any object that is made up of more than one material. Composites were used quite early in human history; composite bows have been discovered dating back to 1300 BC. The composite technology refers the late 20th Century invention of various metal and plastic composites with greater strength, lightness, and other special properties than the base materials. Kevlar, the modern battle armor, is a composite material. Modern tanks are constructed of steel-boron nitride composites. Stealth airplanes use composite materials that are much more difficult to spot on radar. The tungsten-carbide composite is used in drill bits and wedding rings. Composite materials often demand extremely complex and precise manufacturing processes. However expensive the process may be, the resulting material may have superior qualities that make them more than worth the expense.

Verbundwerkstoffe wurden bereits recht früh in der menschlichen Geschichte verwendet - so wurden Bögen aus Verbundstoffen gefunden, die sich auf das Jahr 1300 v. Chr. zurückdatieren lassen. Die moderne Technologie der Verbundwerkstoffe geht auf Erfindungen des späten 20. Jahrhunderts zurück, bei denen verschiedene Metalle und Kunststoffe zu Verbundwerkstoffen mit größerer Stärke, geringerem Gewicht und anderen speziellen Eigenschaften kombiniert wurden. So bestehen moderne Rüstungen oft aus dem Verbundwerkstoff Kevlar. Moderne Panzer werden aus Stahl-Bornitrit-Verbundwerkstoffen gebaut. As a software developer and artist I have learnt to handle both complex techniques and human needs.
