After completing my BA in Hispanic Studies from the University of Sheffield in 2011 I became a CELTA-certified English Language teacher and taught in several countries including Brazil, Portugal and Spain. This time abroad helped to further improve my linguistic skills in my target languages of Spanish and Portuguese.
In 2014 I returned to the UK to study an MA in Interpreting and Translating at the University of Salford. I completed the course with a distinction and used the contacts I made through the university's EGPS company contacts to secure a work placement with Welocalize (formerly Nova Language Services) in Barcelona. I worked there for ten months as an in-house linguist with daily tasks that included translating, postedition, quality assurance and some DTP. I also began to develop a specialisation in medical/life sciences texts.
Since August 2016 I have been working as a freelance translator specialising in medical/life sciences texts with regular projects that include clinical trial protocols, informed consent forms, patient information sheets/leaflets, serious adverse event reports, ethics committee letters, summary of product characteristics, etc. For enquiries about rates, availability, sample translations, etc. please contact me at [email protected].
