Source text - English Dhiren has his own fashion to talk like this. There is a touch of philosophy and taste of life even in his general speeches. This tea stall is owned by Dhiren where I regularly come down to have a tea at the evening. Dhiren sets a wooden bench here at the rocky river bank, I enjoy a glass of tea with rich milk and sugar and listen to Dhiren. I listen to the river to flow. There is a burning-ghat at the left side, down near the river bed; from there the cremators pray in chorus to the god Hari. I hear them also and dip myself into deep thoughts. With all these, I enjoy a great feeling altogether. Dhiren says “all these are dipped into the nectar of life”. Dhiren talks and smiles, when he smiles his eyes get squeezed and from the wrinkles of his face, experiences disperse.
Translation - Bengali ধীরেন এভাবেই কথা বলে। ওর সব কথাতেই থাকে দর্শনের ছোঁয়া আর জীবনের অদ্ভূত আস্বাদ। এই চায়ের দোকানটা ধীরেনের আর আমি রোজই সন্ধের ঝোঁকে আসি এখানে চা খেতে। নদীর পাথুরে কিনারায় একটা বেঞ্চি পেতে দেয় ধীরেন, কাঁচের গ্লাস ভরা ঘন দুধের চা খাই আর ওর কথা শুনি। নদীর আওয়াজ শুনি। বাঁদিকে খানিকটা নীচেয় আছে শ্মশান – সেখান থেকে মাঝে মধ্যে শ্মশানযাত্রীদের হরিধ্বনি - তাও শুনি। আর চিন্তার জাল বুনি। সব মিলিয়ে বেশ লাগে। ধীরেনের ভাষায় বললে বলতে হয় “জেবনের রসে জ্যাবজ্যাবে”। ধীরেন এমনই সব কথা বলে আর সুন্দর হাসে। হাসলে তার চোখ ছোট হয়ে যায়, চোখের কোণের চামড়া কুঁচকে গিয়ে, চামড়ার ভাঁজ থেকে ঝরে পড়ে অভিজ্ঞতার রেণু।
