Source text - English Some international organisations, such as the International Labour Organisation and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development have established a set of recommendations and principles. These provisions are described as "soft law" as they need to be introduced into the domestic laws of each country or state for them to be enforceable by law.
On the other hand, this set of guidelines extends to potentially sensitive areas for our Company, including employment, human rights, the environment, bribery and competition. Falling short of these guidelines would have a very harmful effect on both our image and reputation. These guidelines have since been applied in cases of corruption and child labour. Ethics campaigners and powerful non-governmental organisations are very concerned with these issues and regard them as a high priority. This often drives companies to establish their own policies in order to regulate and control their ethical standards; after all, business ethics are about taking your ethical responsibilities seriously!
