Source text - English The Council for Ethnic Minorities has been in existence since 1999 and consists of 14 members with minority backgrounds. The members come from the Municipal Councils of Integration. The Council is served by the secretariat of the Ministry of Refugees, Immigration and Integration Affairs.
The task for the Council of Ethnic Minorities is to advise the Minister of Integration Affairs in matters of significance for refugees and immigrants in Denmark. The Council meets with the Minister of Integration Affairs every three months to discuss current problems, new initiatives and legislation within the area. The Minister of Integration Affairs can also request statements from the Council concerning specific issues and action plans.
The Council for Ethnic Minorities follows developments within the area of foreign and integration affairs, and keeps itself updated on affairs in the Municipal Councils of Integration. The Council also takes initiatives for specific actions and projects, especially regarding the integration effort. The Council responds to requests in relation to new legislation and participates in the public debate in the media.
The members of the Council meet once a month to discuss proposed laws, relevant activities and current issues. The council members participate actively in conferences, seminars and meetings that have relevance for Denmark and internationally. The Council is in close contact with public and private decision-makers, interest groups and researchers within the ethnic minority arena. The Council is also represented in a wide range of steering committees, working groups and boards in both public and private frameworks.

I received my MA LLB in Pakistan, and obtained an English language diploma from Cambridge College of Learning, in the UK. I have studied, worked and lived in the UK for more than 4 years. While living there, I observed closely the practical use of the English language and developed genuine translation skills into my own language. I also came across the different accents of English language in multicultural London, while at study, work and in day-to-day living. In addition, In the UK, I also had the opportunity to teach Urdu language to the English speaking community, both on a one to one basis and online. All of which helped me to develop a broader based comprehension of both the languages and cultures, and a true ability to thoroughly translate purely.
