English to Portuguese: [Technology] Pc World Magazine review of the The MicroFlex 92B Dec 22, 2008 by David Murphy.
Source text - English The MicroFlex 92B is one of the fastest power PCs we've tested to date; its speed, price and upgradability make it a winner.
Micro Express' MicroFlex 92B offers a tantalizing mixture of performance and price. The modest $1599 investment (as of December 3, 2008; $200 extra with an LG Electronics W1942 display) provides plenty of room to transform this power desktop into a full-fledged gaming monster, should you so choose later in its life.
Don't get us wrong; the system's included 2.93-GHz Intel Core i7 940 processor isn't a slowpoke by any means. It sits alongside 3GB of DDR3 (1333 MHz) memory and a speedy (10,000 rpm) Western Digital Velociraptor drive with Vista Business installed. The PC's WorldBench 6 score of 138 places it among the top-performing power desktops we've tested, period. But you'll probably want to upgrade that hard disk: The Velociraptor's 300GB of primary storage isn't a lot to work with if you're the kind of power user this system is designed for.
The MicroFlex 92B sports an ATI Radeon HD 4870x2 graphics card for your gaming pursuits. That's one of the fastest cards on the market, and a great deal of graphical firepower for a machine this inexpensively configured. As a result, the MicroFlex 92B delivered impressive results on our gaming benchmarks, averaging 201 and 233 frames per second on our 1280-by-1024-resolution Doom 3 and Far Cry tests, respectively.

00:01:55,348 --> 00:01:57,782
When the Second World War was over,
11
00:01:57,884 --> 00:02:00,751
we were the one great power
in the world.
12
00:02:00,854 --> 00:02:03,914
The Soviets had
a substantial military machine,
13
00:02:04,023 --> 00:02:07,424
but they could not touch us in power.
14
00:02:07,527 --> 00:02:10,325
We had this enormous force
that had been built up.
15
00:02:10,430 --> 00:02:13,092
We had the greatest fleet
in the world.
16
00:02:13,199 --> 00:02:17,431
We'd come through the war
economically sound.
17
00:02:17,537 --> 00:02:23,339
And I think that, in addition
to feeling a sense of responsibility,
18
00:02:23,443 --> 00:02:26,776
we also began to feel...
19
00:02:26,880 --> 00:02:30,441
the-the sense of a world power,
20
00:02:30,550 --> 00:02:35,647
that possibly we could control
the future of the world.
21
00:02:35,755 --> 00:02:39,521 * Dressed up to win
We're dressed up to win *
22
00:02:39,626 --> 00:02:42,993 * Dressed up for victory *
23
00:02:43,096 --> 00:02:46,998 * We are just beginning
and we won't stop winning *
24
00:02:47,100 --> 00:02:50,866 * Till the world is free *
25
00:02:50,970 --> 00:02:54,371 * This time we will all make certain *
26
00:02:54,474 --> 00:02:58,069 * That this time is the last time *
27
00:02:58,178 --> 00:03:01,477 * This time we will not say curtains *
28
00:03:01,581 --> 00:03:05,210 * Till we bring it down
in their own hometown *
29
00:03:05,318 --> 00:03:09,414 * For this time we are out to finish *
30
00:03:09,522 --> 00:03:12,787 * The job we started then *
31
00:03:12,892 --> 00:03:16,623 * Clean it up for all times
this time *
32
00:03:16,729 --> 00:03:20,688 * So we won't have to do it again **
33
00:03:20,800 --> 00:03:25,032
Our vision of progress
is not limited to our own country.
34
00:03:25,138 --> 00:03:28,266
We extend it
to all the peoples of the world.
35
00:03:32,045 --> 00:03:34,878 [Newsreel Narrator]
Military action in Indochina.
36
00:03:34,981 --> 00:03:38,781 French regulars land along the coast
in search of roving communist bands.
37
00:03:38,885 --> 00:03:42,082 For France, it represents
a tremendous sacrifice...
38
00:03:42,188 --> 00:03:44,816 of manpower and financial resources.
39
00:03:44,924 --> 00:03:47,620 Without American help,
the burden would be too great.
40
00:03:59,339 --> 00:04:04,606
I do not expect that there is going
to be a communist victory in Indochina.

00:01:55,340 --> 00:01:57,780
Quando a segunda guerra mundial acabou,
11
00:01:57,880 --> 00:02:00,750
nós éramos a grande potencia do mundo.
12
00:02:00,850 --> 00:02:03,910
Os Soviéticos tinham
um arsenal militar substancial,
13
00:02:04,020 --> 00:02:07,420
14
00:02:07,520 --> 00:02:10,320
Nos tínhamos esta enorme força
que havia sido construída.
15
00:02:10,430 --> 00:02:13,090
Nós tínhamos a maior frota do mundo.
16
00:02:13,190 --> 00:02:17,430
Ao final da guerra nos estávamos
economicamente saudáveis.
17
00:02:17,530 --> 00:02:23,330
18
00:02:23,440 --> 00:02:26,770
nós também começamos a sentir ...
19
00:02:26,880 --> 00:02:30,440
o-o significado de potência mundial,
20
00:02:30,550 --> 00:02:35,640
que possivelmente nos poderíamos
controlar o futuro do mundo.
21
00:02:35,750 --> 00:02:39,520 * Vestidos para vencer Vestidos para vencer *
22
00:02:39,620 --> 00:02:42,990 * Vestidos para vitória *
23
00:02:43,090 --> 00:02:46,990 * Estamos apenas começando e
não pararemos de vencer *
24
00:02:47,100 --> 00:02:50,860 * até este mundo estiver livre *
25
00:02:50,970 --> 00:02:54,370 *a esta hora teremos a certeza*
26
00:02:54,470 --> 00:02:58,060 * Que esta é a ultima vez *
27
00:02:58,170 --> 00:03:01,470 * A esta hora, não diremos que é o fim*
28
00:03:01,580 --> 00:03:05,210 * Até nós destruirmos sua cidade natal *
29
00:03:05,310 --> 00:03:09,410 * A esta hora teremos quase terminado *
30
00:03:09,520 --> 00:03:12,780 * O serviço que tínhamos começado *
31
00:03:12,890 --> 00:03:16,620 * Limpar para sempre a esta hora *
32
00:03:16,720 --> 00:03:20,680 * Para que não tenhamos de fazê-lo de novo **
33
00:03:20,800 --> 00:03:25,030
34
00:03:25,130 --> 00:03:28,260
Nos a estendemos a todas as pessoas do mundo.
35
00:03:32,040 --> 00:03:34,870 [Narrador]
Ação militar na Indochina.
36
00:03:34,980 --> 00:03:38,780 Soldados franceses à postos ao
37
00:03:38,880 --> 00:03:42,080 Para a França, isto representa
um tremendo sacrifício...
38
00:03:42,180 --> 00:03:44,810 de recursos humanos e financeiros.
39
00:03:44,920 --> 00:03:47,620 Sem a ajuda americana,
o fardo seria imenso.
40
00:03:59,330 --> 00:04:04,600
Não espero que haverá uma
vitória comunista na Indochina.
English to Portuguese: [Literary] Translation of a pice of the book Eclipse (2007), by Stephenie Meyer. Quoting Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights (1847)
Source text - English As I was about to head down for breakfast, I noticed my battered copy of Wuthering Heights lying open on the floor where Edward had dropped it in the night, holding his place the way the damaged binding always held mine.
I picked it up curiously, trying to remember what he'd said. Something about feeling sympathy for Heathcliff, of all people. That couldn't be right; I must have dreamed that part.
Three words on the open page caught my eye, and I bent my head to read the paragraph more closely. It was Heathcliff speaking, and I knew the passage well.
And there you see the distinction between our feelings: had he been in my place and I in his, though I hated him with a hatred that turned my life to madden I never would have raised a hand against him. You may look incredulous, if you please! I never would have banished him from her society as long as she desired his. The moment her regard ceased, I would have torn his heart out, and drank his blood! But, till then - if you don't believe me, you don't know me – till then, I would have died by inches before I touched a single hair of his head!
