well, I am thinking of dropping my most aggravating client Dec 29, 2008

But I haven't quite resolved to do so yet. Other than that, being more on top of invoicing and dunning - same as everyone else it seems:)

Be more structured Dec 29, 2008

Learn to say no when the client makes unreasonable demands;
Remember I'm allowed a day off;
Clue up on my specialist subjects;
Purchase some of my preferred technical dictionaries in my specialist fields...

Oh... and remember that I have a home life as well as a work life!

Happy new year, everyone!

Higher Income Dec 30, 2008

In a nutshell: Spend less, earn more, and save!
I am always looking for painless ways to save on business expenses. I recently had to buy a new phone for my office so I bought a dual landline/Skype phone and now I make all my landline calls through Skype. It will undoubtedly save me money. I also want to update my website and outsource more of the "easy" work so I can free up for the really heavy duty jobs.

Happy New Year everyone!

1. To quote for some jobs! Dec 30, 2008

2. To gain an additional professional qualification.

I have been 'testing the water' for long enough!!
My teaching hours are down to 0.5, so I have time to get going on translation work.

I have a feeling 2009 could be interesting!!

Relocating Dec 30, 2008

It seems more and more likely that we will move to Asia next year.

Since the kids (does anybody know where it comes from?), I have been reluctant to move to new places. I love things to be the same, easy and comfortable, hate adapting. Though deep in me I believe our life, especially that of my children will be enriched; it is probably a chance for life to them.

I shall be busy packing up, sorting things out, getting new friends ...
