Hello,

I've just moved to Brisbane with my beautiful family and I would like to know more about the translation community in here, the translation market and where to find good bargains on books and dictionnaries ( yes, I'm a bookworm and I had to leave most of my books behind) . So, anyone from Brisbane???

Dear Inocencia,

The Brisbane branch of AUSIT (Australian professional association for translators and interpreters) is very active and holds regular networking events and PD workshops. If you contact me at the email address below I will give you some contact details for some of my colleagues there who will be delighted to welcome you into their community.

Dear Inocencia,

If you contact me at the email address below I will give you some contact details for some of my colleagues there who will be delighted to welcome you into their community.
Regarding NAATI accreditation you are probably wise to just sit the test rather than have your overseas qualifications assessed as this can be very expensive (around $800) with no guarantee of success, whereas for an experienced practitioner the test shouldn't be too difficult (my personal view). For more information about the T&I profession in Australia go to www.ausit.org. If you are able AUSIT is holding its biennial conference in Fremantle, Western Australia on 5-6 November - a great opportunity to network with colleagues and get a good picture of the profession here (www.ausitconference.org).

Please contact me privately for those details:
